Thoughts On Atlanta's Economy Relating To Football

by C. Henry Adams

I must admit that I'm a NFL Fan for the Atlanta Falcons. For 45 years, going on 46 years, I've only known one Team whether they win or lose to support.

I must admit that I'm not happy with the Atlanta Falcons performance this year (2015) as of Sunday, December 13th 2015, the 51st week of 2015.

Disclosure:  I am not a Professional American Football Commentator.  But, what I am is a Professional Business Man going on nearly 18 years of experience.

Atlanta, Georgia or should I say the Metropolitan Area of Atlanta, Georgia has been my home for over 40 years.

The National Football League ( "NFL")'s Franchise called the Atlanta Falcons to which is currently owned by Arthur Blank, a Great Georgian and a Great American to say the very least, has been a " Let Down " (Disappointment).

From a Business Prospective, I expected the Atlanta Falcons to boost the Economy in Atlanta, surrounding Counties, and States.

Simple Question:  How can the Atlanta Falcons be a boost in the Economy when its Team is constantly on the losing end?   Today, they possess 6 wins and 7 loses, whereas, the Carolina Panthers beat the Atlanta Falcons by 38 points to Zero.

Today, the Atlanta Falcons and others are building a Stadium in the shadows of the Georgia Dome.

A number of people I've personally spoken to wonders why.  Perhaps, it is being developed to boost the City of Atlanta's Economy regarding Football and Soccer to say the very least.

If this is the case, should the Atlanta Falcons continue to make adjustments on their Team to make this a reality?  I would sincerely hope so...

Yes, I have my thoughts about who they should remove from a Key Position on the football field, but I rather hear your thoughts instead.   Thanks for reading my blog, I greatly appreciate you...

Invest In Southwest Atlanta

by C. Henry Adams

Technically, I grew up on the West-side of Atlanta, Georgia, whereas, a particular street sign might say the Street Name (No actual name given.) with the initials of NW ( "Northwest" ), but if you go roughly (1) one mile from my Ole Neighborhood; a street sign might say the Street Name (No actual name given.) with the initials of SW ( "Southwest" ).

Nevertheless, in my professional opinion, Southwest Atlanta needs Economic Improvements to stay up with the times.

I applaud Atlanta City Council Lady, Keisha Lance Bottoms of District 11 and her Administration for taking the time to at least issue a survey .

There are a Number of Concerns that need to be address to improve the Economic Outlook of Southwest Atlanta.  Below is a short list:

1)  A Need for Regular (meaning Weekly) Clean Up / Removal of Trash from Streets, Neighborhoods, Parks, Wooded areas, Wetlands (Utoy Creek Wetlands) and Streams (Utoy Creek).

2)  A Need to better educate / train the Local Youth regarding the historical significance of the area to hopefully give them a stronger sense of Value.

3) A Need to significantly reduce Crime and Criminal Acts in West Atlanta.

4) A Need to significantly reduce or end Poverty in this area by creating or placing a Surplus of Careers (' not just a job') through Small Business in Southwest Atlanta.

5) A Need to reduce the HIGH Cost of Living in Prices for Residents at the local Grocery Stores and local Gas Stations to name a few.

If I sat here long enough, I could write more concerns.  However, being concern and taking actions are two different things.  I prefer to be on the taking action side after voicing or hearing concerns spoken.

Those are my thoughts, now what say you?  Thanks for reading my commentary, I greatly appreciate you.

East Point Georgia Annual Christmas Tree Lightning

by C. Henry Adams

On a cold winter's night of Friday, December 4th 2015, I had the opportunity to witness the City of East Point Annual Christmas Tree Lightning.  To my surprise, there were hundreds to likely a thousand citizens who participated in this event.

During the program, the City served hot cocoa and popcorn regarding refreshments.

We all had the opportunity to hear great Children / Teenager's Choirs  ( Heritage Elementary School, Parklane Elementary School, and Tri-Cities High School ) sing several Christmas Melodies, as well as, receive greetings from Georgia State Senator Vincent D. Fort of East Point, Georgia.

This was a well secured occasion protected by both East Point Police Department and Fire Department.

I briefly spoke to City Council Lady - LaTonya Martin of Ward D who appeared with a smile and I'm glad everyone there were in Great Spirits.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

ISIS Influence Is Real In The USA And On Social Media

by C. Henry Adams

ISIS or Daesh Influence is Real in the USA and on Social Media.

People are influenced by various forms of Communications they VIEW, HEAR, READ and FEEL EMOTIONALLY.

Let's face this fact and continue to move forward.

But, many American People like myself, REFUSE to live in FEAR.

What do we know about Terror or Fear?

Let's see:

1) It can kill an Economy.
2) It place fear in the minds of everyday People.
3) It can cause psychological illness within an Individual IF they allow it to...
4) It is brought about in some cases by Evil Deeds.
5) It can cause other health related illness within an Individual IF they allow it to...
6) It brings about stress.

What can we do to stop the Terror or FEAR regarding ISIS or any other Terror Related Group whether they be Foreign or Domestic in description or identity?

Here's my recommendations:

1) If you are a Believer in God, put Your Trust in God while thinking positive; moving forward.
Option B) If you are not a believer, think Positive and keep moving forward.

2) Be Vigilant, be aware of your surroundings.  If you see something, say something, then MOVE AWAY from Danger.

3) Defend Yourself, your Family, your Friends, your Associates and your Country to round all things up; IF there is NO other RECOURSE.

Enough is enough, Folks.

These are my thoughts, what say you?

Healthcare In America

by C. Henry Adams

Over the course of the development regarding BIE MG Blogs, passion expressed in articles regarding the ACA or Obamacare was posted several times.

After thorough reviews, it is duly noted that one's opinion regarding the 'Healthcare Law' is just that; an opinion not necessarily expressed or agreed upon at BIE Companies, by its Agents or Associates.

However, out of concern, I will just state facts going forward regarding Healthcare in America, the United States.

1) It is Law of the land in the USA that you get Healthcare Insurance or be penalized financially.  Why?  Because, this law is a tax according to the U.S. Supreme Court.

2) In the USA, Healthcare Insurance with or without tax subsidies is high in cost.

3) People are putting off medical treatments whether they have Healthcare Insurance or not according to a recent Gallup Article on November 30th 2015.

4) Twenty-three (23) Healthcare Co-ops went out of business, regardless of  ANY political parties reasoning.

Ok, those are my thoughts and concerns, what might you say?

Thanks!

Understanding Commodity Investments

By C. Henry Adams

According to a Google definition, a Commodity is "a raw material or primary agricultural product that can be bought and sold, such as copper or coffee."

Recently as of  November 27th 2015 on the New York Stock Exchange ("NYSE"), it was reported that Deere & Company (" John Deere") stock was down by 91 cents at 1.14 % loss, priced at $79.09 USD.

Professionally, I do NOT proclaim to be a stock market licensed expert or financial guru, period.

However, John Deere Tractors or should I say, the "Deere & Company" Organization has been around since 1837; this Business is a Great American Commodity in my professional opinion.

Perhaps, it is a good time to invest in this stock.

But, I can not guarantee that statement.

However, according to the USDA ERS State Facts Sheets, poverty has increased to 18.5% in 2013 compared to 16% in 1979 within the USA.

Should we be concern? YES.

Should we continue to seek a solution and resolve this issue?  ABSOLUTELY.

What could help?  My answer would be to continue to invest in US Commodities.

Those are my thoughts, what might be yours?

by C. Henry Adams

As a small business in the State of Georgia, it is important to understand exactly why a Regional Commission exist and what is its purpose.

That being said, there are twelve (12) Regional Commissions in the State of Georgia.  They serve Georgia’s city and county governments by functioning as multicounty planning and development agencies.

According to New Georgia's Encyclopedia, "Georgia’s RCs are involved in a broad range of activities related to coordinated and comprehensive planning, land-use development, historic preservation, aging services, revolving loan funds, business retention and development, affordable housing, tourism, workforce development, coordinated transportation, geographic information systems, and disaster-mitigation planning.

EMV Chip Card ( Smart Card) Migration On The Move

by C. Henry Adams

Years ago (around 1999), when Broadcasting Interest Enterprise, Inc. ("BIE") first studied this Technology, we called these Cards with a Micro Chip in them, 'Smart Cards'.

Why?  Well, because that was the name given at the time.

Today, they are called EMV Chip Cards or 'Europay, MasterCard, and Visa' Chip Cards.

Recently, I had the opportunity to utilize one of these cards during two different purchases.

At a particular Computer Store , I plug the chip portion of the EMV Card in a specialized port, then input a PIN Number to pay for an item.

During a 2nd purchase with the same card at a different store, I slid the card in the magnetic card reader, and signed a receipt given by the Merchant.

Perhaps the migration to the new EMV Chips Cards will help protect against ID Theft to a certain degree.

At this point the propagation as to furthering the protection of the Consumer regarding the EMV Chip Card is out.

In my professional opinion, it is a great start and hopefully improved security measures will be built into it over time, we shall see.

Those are my thoughts, so what are yours?

Our Mantra: A Business Development & Telecommunications Consulting Firm

by C. Henry Adams

It is understood that a " Mantra " which is derived originally in Hinduism and Buddhism- is a word or sound repeated to aid concentration in meditation.

But, here we consider focusing on Broadcasting Interest Enterprise, Inc. ; ' ( "BIE" ) a business development and telecommunications consulting firm' as the Mantra.

We do not with intent mean in anyway that it is a
sacred utterance, because it is not.

But, our purpose is related to when you think of Business Development and Telecommunications, think of BIE.

Boosting The Economy Through Small Business In Macon, Georgia

by C. Henry Adams

You know, perhaps as we get older.  Excuse me.  LOL   As we mature in life, it has been brought to attention that having patience truly is a virtue or behavior showing high moral standards.

Fore, thinking clearly regarding a subject requires a clear path to comprehension or understanding it.

That being said, the consolidation of the City of Macon with the County of Bibb was and is in my professional opinion, a brilliant idea to which all people living in the Middle portion of the State of Georgia could possibly benefit.

On Wednesday Morning, from the hours of 10:00 am until 2:00 pm EST, I had the opportunity to experience what I could only describe as a boost in the Middle Georgia Economy.

Perhaps you may ask, what could that be?   Well, located in the Historical Macon Terminal Station on the fourth floor was the ' 2015 Fall  Business Development Resource Forum '.

This forum was brought forth by the ' Office of Small Business Affairs ' from the Macon-Bibb County Government.  This particular Department is lead by Dr. James Louis Bumpus, Director.

The event was very well thought out.   It had a list of Presenters who discuss a wide range of actions to take in establishing a business or greatly improving your current business.

It did not matter what side of the political spectrum that you reside.  It did not matter what was your race or ethnic background.  It did not matter what was your gender.  However, to conduct business in this Great City and County combined, there were certain requirements and perhaps being a Citizen of the United States of America would be a benefit.

Without going into greater detail, below we list the organizations who were represented:

  1. Macon-Bibb County Legal Department
  2. Macon-Bibb County Business Development Services
  3. Georgia Department of Administrative Services
  4. Central Georgia Technical College
  5. Georgia Technology - Enterprise Innovation Institute
  6. Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council
  7. NOW Corporation
  8. Operation HOPE, Inc.
  9. SCORE  Middle Georgia
Macon, Georgia, as well as, Central Georgia is an ideal location to grow a business or expand one.

I would like to thank Dr. James Louis Bumpus, the Director of  Macon-Bibb County's Office of Small Business Affairs for assisting Small Business in Central Georgia.  The ' 2015 Fall Business Development Resource Forum ' was greatly appreciated.

So, those are my thoughts, what are yours?

A Special Thanks goes out to the Catering Company of the Event!
