No Pay No Restroom Equal Poor Customer Service Rating
In today's business environment, like anything else, you should be aware of your actions. It is true that in some neighborhoods in this current economy, we can assume that you will find homeless men, women and children. In some cases, they may even be mentally ill. But, this does not mean that as a business owner, you should treat them any differently than a paying customer.
Why? Well, because when you start profiling individuals due to the way they dress for instance, you might slip up and assume one thing about a President and CEO who regularly visit your establishment while paying for his meals accordingly, when actually its another.
Now don't get me wrong, I understand the rights of a business owner and I double and triple check quite often them from time to time.
However, having a security policy where if you're
not paying for a meal first, you can't use my
restroom?
So, are you telling me that if I had to utilize
the restroom really bad after traveling several
miles on the road, plus the fact that I was
hungry; I would have to risk urinating on myself
while standing in the line to pay to use your
restroom first. Out 'freaking' rageous!
Well guess what!? This incident where I
personally had to pay literally to use a
McDonald's Restaurant first, actually happened
to me December 29th, 2010.
I arrived at a Restaurant located in West
Atlanta off Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and actually
proceeded to the restroom.
Nevertheless, I was stopped by a Restaurant Employee
and told that I could not use the restroom until after
I bought an item from the menu first. This was confirmed
by a Patron and by a person that appeared to be
a Manager on duty.
Did I buy a cheeseburger to use the restroom? Yes?
In fact, after utilizing the restroom, I returned to
counter to pickup my cheeseburger and speak to
the Manager.
I told the Manager that she had lost a Customer, she
thanked me for my purchase and gave me the cheeseburger.
I proceeded to walk out the door and threw that
cheeseburger in the trash can in plain site of
other customers.
That saying about, 'watch who you entertain,
fore, you never know who dress up or down in
society is true' (I slightly modified it).
No pay no restroom equals a poor customer
service rating from me. Rest assured, I
will not return to that McDonald's nor
will I recommend it to no one; not even my
enemies.
So, what do you think?
